Hi there. I just received the SVS PC 12Plus and I must say, not only is this thing big but it's intimidating too! What to do with all the controls and fine tuning?? I've read the manual but I think it's a bit over my head in verbiage. I can't seem to wrap my head around this Tech. Im not a newbie either. Lol. I guess I am to a sub / hot water heater like this! CAN SOMEONE HELP? I did the quick start up ran Audessy xt32 with bass management and when Xt 32 test the subs dbs with everything turned all the way down the I'm in the 87db range!? Is it bc its front left corner loaded in my room? I have two other places for it front right corner but it's a bigger space or back left corner? Or do y'all think that's the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Folks here can certainly help you out, but calling/e-mailing SVS is my first suggestion. They were always great when I contacted them, and I thought that there customer service was world class when I bought my PC13-Ultra back in 2007. I don't know if they still provide tech support like they used to, but I think it's worth contacting them to find out. They know their subs better than anyone else, after all. :)

Thanks Adam! I messed around with it last night and it sounds great but I'm not sure about $1200 great. I used to, well I still do have some dual 12" 500wts that shook the house harder but not like the sound I heard last night. There were levels of bass I've never heard before. Made me chuckle!

How'd you like your pic 13? Any reason why you moved on to something else, if you did? I'm asking bc I've thought of returning my SVS PC12 plus and getting 2 PB 1 or 2000's any thoughts?

Again thanks for all the help!
Best regards,
A

Hi, A. I still use the PC13-Ultra. I got an SB13-Ultra as part of a contest here (I didn't win and get it free, but I decided to pay the discounted price to keep it), and now I run two subs.

I love the PC13. It's so much better than the B&W ASW-1000 that I was using. I remember playing Mr. & Mrs. Smith when I first got it and just giggling like a school boy when Brad Pitt went over a hill in the dune buggy and hit the ground. It was the first time that I can remember feeling it throughout my entire body. Just a great buy at the (then) $1300. The SB13-Ultra is incredibly similar, but much (MUCH) smaller. It won't hit the same volume levels as the PC13, but for any "normal" home theater, I think it's the way to go.

These days, I don't really notice that added thump. Perhaps I'm just used to it, or maybe I just don't listen loudly any more. I do like having it, though. :)
