Hi everyone newibie here, I hope this is a quick question for someone!! I just bought the receiver today, everything went great until I setup the cable box, no sound. I have it connected using the optical cable, and it's a no go..... I wasn't using the optical cable with the old receiver, so this is new. I've tried to disconnect the optical cable and try just the analog cables, still no sound. I've also tried it having both connected. The only other difference is I'm using the component video cables instead of the DVI cable. I've gone through the setup a million times on the receiver, I must be missing something easy!! The DVD player is working great sound and all!!

What am I skipping?

Cable box is a Motorola/Comcast DCT6200

Thanks in advance,
Andy

I don't have that particular cable box, but I assume you've gone through the instruction for initial setup of the box that tells the cable box how and what to output?

Lexx, Yes downloaded and read the user guide last night and again this morning, I don't see anything about configuring the audio. Video yes. This morning I disconnected the optical and went with just component video, and audio out. No difference, does anyone know if there is a problem using the component video connections with these DVR’s?

Thanks again,
Andy

Got it!

It was the cable box, Comcast service guy said the optical port on some of the older DVR's wasn't enabled.... Anyway took it back and got a new one, everything is working great now... :D
