Hi guys, I'm going to be purchasing a new system for my home soon and I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I'm going for mourdaunt short speakers and i'm getting a aviano 5 for centre and aviano 8 for front but for the rear speakers i don't know if i get a aviano 2 or a aviano 6. the av receiver i'm looking at is a denon 3313 ( i was suggested a denon 3312 for the same setup of speakers but with aviano 2). I'll be using this system for movies as well as a lot of music and i think it is possible to have the av producing stereo sound through the front speakers and the rear this being the main reason i'd maybe pick the aviano 6, please correct me if i'm wrong. also would the av have enough power if i go for aviano 8 and aviano 6?

thanks for your help

Do you plan on using a sub also? If no, then towers all around would probably be OK, however this method will require much more attention to placement and calibration. If you will be getting a good sub, then I don't see a reason to go with towers for the rears.

Yes I will be using a sub and currently I'm planning on the MS Aviano 9 (I'm a MS fan :p ), I'm just wondering since the room will be quite large and maybe (if the amp has the possibility of doing stereo in 4 channels, can someone confirm this please) it would improve the music ability, I'll even ask if going for another set of aviano 8 as rear speakers as an even better solution?

Just to make sure you understand what I mean with the 4 channel stereo, I basicly mean having 2 speakers playing the left and 2 speakers the right as this is my setup for my hi-fi that I use solely for music (it's an old Sony TA-F170, 20 years old)

Having heard some of the MS subs, I would get one from another manufacturer. They do a lot of things right, but subs aren't one of them.

Based on the specs of that Sony, I definitely would not try driving 4 towers with it. It does not show as listed for 4 Ohm operation so you would risk damaging the speakers this way.

Sorry, seems like i explained myself wrong :p the towers I'm getting (avianos) are going to be used with a denon 3313, that sony isn't even an AV, it's just a stereo amp with the capability to run 4 speakers on a stereo system, I do want to know if the denon 3313 can do the same as the sony and run 4 speakers as stereo?

What sub would you suggest then? price would have to be similar to the MS (roughly 600pounds or 765EURO or 950US dollar)

Yes, pretty much all current receivers have something called "all channel stereo" or something similar that copies the signal from the R&L to the others and that should not be a problem.

Overseas is a different story than here in the US, where there are a larger selection of internet brand subs, so I am not 100% sure what to recommend over there unfortunately.

Even so, what would be your selection for around 900 dollars?
