Help Needed for Speaker Selection

Hi, I bought a new Pioneer Elite SC-07 receiver recently and have a problem concerning which speakers I should use as my side surrounds and my rear surrounds.

Let me 1st state that I have Klipsch KLF-30's in front along with a booming Velodyne HGS-18 subwoofer rated at around 900 watts rms/1200 watts peak, a pair of Klipsch RC 3's for my Center Channel..

I have a pair of Boston Acoustics bookshelf 2 way speakers for the rear surrounds.

I have a pair of Klipsch KSF 10.5 speakers which have 2 8 inch woofers and a 6 inch horn in each cab. I also have a pair of Klipsch SB 2 two way bookshelf speakers. My question is should I use the KSF towers or the SB bookshelf speakers for my side surrounds?

The Pioneer SC-07 pumps out 140 watts/channel into 6 speakers which can be individually controlled per pair. I am wondering if the larger side surrounds would produce a better balanced sound versus the smaller 2 way bookshelf speakers. My living room is 25' x 28' in diameter, so I do have some space for any speaker set up I choose.

Any help/insight/or educated opinions concerning the speaker choice would be greatly appreciated. I am fairly educated concerning audiology, but this new side channel thing is throwing me a bit. Thanks in advance for Your answers, dmpljim.

Are you actually asking which speakers to choose when you have them in your possession and could try them yourself? I'm usually very tolerant of the oft-repeated "what speakers should I buy?" threads. I've started a few myself. But why or how could anyone here provide a better opinion than you simply trying out your speakers?

If you are using a sub, I see no benefit in using the Klipch for movies/film baecuase all bass is redirected to the sub. However, if you listen to multichannel audio DVD-A or SACD, then the Kilpch would be a better fit becuase of the similarity of "sound beaming" coming from horns where as the Bostons don't beam.

"Are you actually asking which speakers to choose when you have them in your possession and could try them yourself?"

"Droht"; no ****? I would have never thought of doing that! Thanks for Your pearls of wisdom.

That was not what I was asking. Maybe my question is a bit above Your personal comprehension. Your unkind assumption posted in a public Forum, instead of to me in a PM, shows EVERYBODY You have no Class, respect for other Members and no Integrity. You almost come off as a know it all and possibly a wanna be Troll... No Love Here, so I am outta here...

Evidently you can't handle constructive criticism!:rolleyes: The SB-2s would be sufficient and should be able to be placed higher which is preferred.

3db also offers good input.
