Help my 12" Sub is making a bad noise!!!.....

Yesterday I bought a Jensen 425 Watt Power Amplifier. I hooked up a 12" Pioneer 400 Watt subwoofer. I got all the cables connected, turned on the car, and the sub sounded like, I really don't know how to put it, like crackling/popping. I have no clue what to do. Please help!

This is a home audio forum. I would suggest going to www.carsound.com or www.sounddomain.com for some advice.

However, does the noise occur at low volume, high volume? What type of enclosure is the sub in?
