well I did the set up and it put my bass cross over to 160Hz I always thought 80Hz or lower it's where it should be, it set my speakers to small, center, rears and fronts but I am not sure about the bass crossover being set to 160hz what do you guys think?

Something must be wrong, can you override the Crossover manually to set it at 80HZ?

80hz is the standard x-over point for THX standards. Set all speakers to small and the receiver's x-over to 80 across the board. Set the subwoofer's x-over to 200 hz or bypass it (not sure if your subwoofer has a bypass on it).

thanks, so set the speakers to 80hz and the subwoofer to 200hz or bypass, I have the supercube I I am not sure if it has this, I set the subwoofer x-over to 80hz it was set at 160hz when I did the auto set up I was under the impression that I had to do the subwoofer at 80hz so take it to a higher number 200hz? that's what you are recommending right? let me know please, thanks for your help

You set the Yamaha RX-V2700's x-over to 80hz, and the supercube's to 200hz or whatever the maximum is (not the gain, the x-over).

oh i see, set the yamaha receiver to 80 Hz and the actual subwoofer in the back, turn the dial to 200 Hz. Is that correct?
Thanks for your help. Please let me know if this is right.

The LFE input on the SC I bypasses the sub's x-over so you don't need to crank it up.

ok, so what does that mean now, do I not turn the knob on the supercube to the 150hz that is the max it goes in the back, it's got 3 different knobs. do I turn it up to 150hz or leave it alone, they are hooked up with a monster subwoofer cable to the LFE input

If you have the subwoofer cable connected to the LFE input, according to AVRat, you won't need to use the x-over on the subwoofer period, as it is completely bypassed.:) So basically, don't worry about it at all. Just hook it up and play.:D

ok thanks I noticed now that the sub doesn't turn on right away, it takes some time, it might just be me. question though, do I need to adjust the x-over on the receiver from the original 160hz to the 80hz that I put it at now, since I don't have to worry about anything is this still something I need to leave alone at the default 160hz? please let me know, thanks all for your input and for helping a noob.
