Help me eliminate my line noise problem

Alright, here's the deal. I spend a lot of time hanging out in a friend's amateur recording studio. It's full of great stuff, but it has a serious line noise issue. While playing around in it the other day, I found out the noise stemmed from the lighting system. While the lights certainly look cool, the halogen lights on a variable resistor switch create an awful buzzing in any sort of speaker.

My question is then, how could I eliminate the noise? I'm not sure if the lights and the other stuff is on a separate circuit. I think it is, but I'm not honestly sure. My thought was also to use a standard switch as opposed to a variable resistor. Everything in the studio is running through at least 1 line conditioner (Furman), so it's not because of a lack of conditioning.

Thanks,

Jaxvon
