I just wanted to let you know the outcome here.

I did end up buying a new pin jack from an Adcom parts distributor, as I felt this was really the 'right' way to repair this. I've never done things 'half-baked', and didn't want to start with this...

So, got it , soldered it, tested it, and it works beautifully!

I thank you again for your knowledge, and for walking me through this. I always love when these things work out.
