Help deciding Paradigm rear sourrounds

Folks!
Just got my Paradigm Studio 100, CC570 and ADP470 today, as you can guess I am totally excited :D

But I have a question though. I already decided on the ADP470's for the rear but after talking to the dealer I was thinking maybe I should go with the Studio 20's. From what he explained it was because Dolby, SACD and DVD-A typically use the rear channel to put a particular sound at a particular point and we might not want to disperse it with a dipole speaker.

It would seem that a monopole rear is best for Dolby, SACD and DVD-A while a dipole would be more suited for Prologic. So now I am totally confused if I should stick with the ADP's or switch to the 20's (the 20's are also a bit cheaper, not that it matters now).

I would really appreciate any suggestions or links to reviews that would help me decide.

Thanks!

Great purchases to start off!!! From what i have read, being no expert, the direct radiating speakers (studio 20's) are better if you listen to a lot of sacd, dvd-a, and dvd music, while the dipoles are better if you watch alot of movies. I have paradigm titans as my rear surrounds and find they do a decent job for movies, so i will probably stick with them there. So what i am saying is you have to decide for yourself unfortunately, it is just which do you prefer. Good luck listening

Dipole surrounds

I also have the 100s, but with the CC-470 and ADP-470 dipole surrounds. Although I really like them, and everyone thinks they sound superb, upon reflection, I think I might suggest you go with the 20s for rear surrounds. Although the ADP-470s sound great, I feel that one tends to lose a bit of the directional imaging that the 20s would probably provide. I hope to, at some point, add mid point surrounds in order to achiever true 7.1, and at that point, I think I would move the ADP-470s to that task, at which I believe they would be grand....

In the meantime, I'm simply continuing to enjoy them as is.

Thanks for your suggestions people but I am still uncertain. I am yet to see any STRONG support for (or against) either of the two :(

I currently use a pair of Studio 100's , CC-570, Studio 20's and Servo 15 V.3 for my theater/audio system. I went with the 20's for one reason, I listen more to CD/DVD-A/SACD tracks then I do movies. I tried both the ADP's and the 20's before I purchased. I found that the ADP's had a far more open sound stage, which I loved during movie play back. I found that same open sound stage to be just a little to much when listening to music, especially DVD-A/SACD's. Don't get me wrong, both the 20's and the ADP's sound very impressive, but each has it's particular application.

my two cents,
Happy Listening

Thanks for all the responses people. I went with the ADP470's as I figured I will be using multichannel sound more for video than audio.
