Help connecting Denon 3805 reciever to Adcom 5802 amp

Hi, I have a Denon 3805 and Iam trying to connect a Adcom 5802 amp my dad has, as soon as I connect the two I can hear the source but with a loud humming noise. I know the the Adcom amp is in good working condition because if I connect a adcom pre-amp we have it works perfectly, the huming noise only comes when I connect the denon pre-out line out.

Sounds like it might be a ground loop. Try checking out this article from the AH main site on "Tips & Tricks". There's also a lot of posts on this forum about ground loops, and you could use the search function to find them.

I'd suggest trying some of the diagnostics listed in that article and then let us know if that's the problem. If it is, we can help you fix it. If it's not, then we can try to help diagnose what is causing it.

I disconnected everything from the denon, only cables go from the front pre-out to the inputs on the amp and still humms. I took the amp, disconnected it from the panamax where the denon is connected and pluged it with a extention cord to anothe outlet far away and nothing, still humms. It's defenetly something with the ground because if I connect only the ground third leg on the plug it starts humming even with no power! But if I connect the adcom amp with the adcom pre-amp with the cd player I dont get humming , it's only with the denon.

Try disconnecting your cable or satellite feed, and see if that stops the him. If it does not try using a ground break on the Adcom. This is definitely a ground loop.
