I need to connect a Scientific Atlanta DHCT Cable box to a Toshiba big screen tv, Toshiba DVD player and Sansui VCR. I'd like to connect a Yamaha AV Receiver and Yamaha Amp both built in late 80' I think. The av receiver does produce dolby pro logic I surround sound. Obviously the Yamaha gear doesn't have component video, S-Video or optical inputs. So how can I wire it to get the best picture but use the av receiver and amp for surround sound? And can I even wire for surround sound if there are no front speakers, only 2 rear and a sub? Can I run the front sound through the TV speakers, surround sound to rear 2 and sub? Then there is no sub output on the av receiver so I probably need to use the amp but I have no idea how to interconnect it. And do I need to use the audio outputs on the DHCT cable box or use the vcr audio outputs? Please help.
