i'm in the process of redoing my home theater system. I'm planning on getting definitive technology BP7002 (fronts), CLR2002 (center), BP1X (sides), SM350 (rear)

i was looking at the integra DHC-40.1 and grouping with emotiva XPA-2 for the fronts and a XPA-5 for the rest.

What do you guys think? Are there any suggestions in about the same price range?

Looks pretty good. You might consider this ATI AT1807 amp which you can probably get almost brand new for $1,300 (7 yr warranty):

Classic Audio Parts is an authorized B-stock seller of ATI component.

The asking price is $1500, but you can make an offer of $1300.

ATI make amps for Lexicon, JBL, Earthquake Sound, & Outlaw Audio.

You could buy a Lexicon and pay 2 to 3 times more for a different faceplate. Yes their amps are about as good as they get. I am looking to get my hands on a few of them myself. When you go with ATI your'e in a different league, your system will definetly come alive. There is nothing like good clean power (and lots of it) , trust me on that one. The extra $ are well worth it, you will not have to worry to upgrade these amps like everything else, these are keepers for many years to come. Look at it like an investment. It will save you money in the long run.

I have the Integra DHC 40.1 with an Emotiva UPA-7 for power - as you can see in my sig. It's an awesome setup. I've had many other prepros and a few amps and this is it for me for quite a while. After changing out many combinations of prepros avr's and speakers I'm very happy with this setup. There are a lot of amp choices out there but the Emotiva amps are hard to beat unless you buy used - and as we know those don't come with a warranty. Try one - I bet you'll keep it. Emotiva has a 30 day no questions return policy. You pay shipping to and from - the only drawback as their amps are very heavy.

Don't be suckered into the idea that paying more gets you more. Sometimes it does - most often it doesn't.
