I have not seen testing from any of these subs except for some measurements of the S12.3 years ago, but I would bet a lot that it is the highest performer, and not just by a little. As for durability, the s12.3 has been discontinued for a awhile now, so that would give me pause in that respect. You will not be able to easily fix it or replace if it breaks down, and it is already a somewhat older sub. That is all the more reason to think about putting a sub together yourself. You can have a cabinet maker build a box according to some sub plan, get a driver that is easily replaceable, and use an outboard amplifier. that way if anything breaks, it's a simple matter to address. Think about how angry you would be if you shelled out 1700 for a s12.3 and it only lasted a few months.
