Help. Choosing a Receiver

I currently have the Yamaha HTR 6160 and looking to upgrade I think it is 95*7 watts. I really do not care if it has dual zone capability. I want something with power that will go good with gaming and watching movies and plenty of HDMI inputs, but I do not want to buy features that I am really not going to use. I have some Artisan Speakers front and rear that I do not believe are using its full potential. USB capability would be nice since I have a IPOD. I was either thinking about Yamaha or Pioneer Elite. Any other receivers that will give me power and sound great is always an option.

What kind of price range are you looking at? There are some great receivers without bells and whistles that can run from $500 to $2000.

I was thinking about the Pioneer less expensive but it has less HDMI inputs as suppose to the Yamaha which has 8in and 2 out. But the Yamaha has a bit more power I think what to do?
