Here is what a rep from Totem said:

Hello Attila,

Thank you for the email

As your Pioneer is not rated for a 4 ohm speaker I would recommend the (8 ohm) non sheilded version of the Model 1 Signature Centre. there is less chance that the amplifier's self protection mode will be engaged with this choice of centre channel.
If you have a CRT based television then you will need to keep the non-sheilded version of the Model 1 Signature Centre at least 3 to 5 inches away from the front of the tube. The size of the tube will determine how close you place the speaker to the television. If you are using a plasma or LCD (LED) type screen you do not have to worry about how far away the speaker is to the display.
We offer both types as there is still a demand for a centre channel that will not adversely effect a CRT type tube.

I hope this helpful. Please let us know if you need more information.

All the best,
John Healey

Get the 8 ohm center that timbre matches your left and right, I never heard that most centers were 4 ohms..

If you have forest 8 ohm towers get the model1 signature center in 8 ohm...
sounds familiar...;)

Also, be careful if you have a computer (HTPC) in your stack, you don't want unshielded magnets near your computer.

But, yeah shielding is mostly not needed due to new TV designs.
Very true. My PC's are all pretty far away from the speakers so it isn't an issue.
