Hello all! Another new guy here, promise I'll try not to ask questions that have been discussed on this forum 100x... want to hear some opinions and please critique on my final decision for the start of my first ever HT. My room specs are, (17x13.5) 8' ceiling. TV at far end of 17 feet on wall, couch against back wall opposite of TV. Gonna use for everything really, %60 music, %40 movies. Some gaming.
3 days ago is when I started my search for speakers and spent ALOT of time here and others reading about all kinds of speakers and comparisons within my price range. ($1500 or so) Man this stuff is addicting!

I'm so glad I took the time to actually research this stuff instead of just ordering some popular brand. My first initial ideas of what I thought I wanted, before I even began my journey of searching, has completely changed... and I have actually gone and listened to a few more "mainstream" brand speakers, and was really not impressed. Now, I'm no expert... heck I'm a complete noob to this, but here is my final choice that I have come up with after many many hours of research and reading reviews. For my receiver I got the Denon 2112. And awaiting order are....

-2 Arx a1b's
-Arx A2
-possible bicf12 for bass ?

Decided it's better to start with a strong front. My cousin (who knows alot more than me in this field), says this might be overkill for the area I have, but if i did, I may want a more powerful receiver. Instead He suggested what he has (Mirage Prestige 5 Home Theater system), which is initially what I started looking at.. smaller all in one setups similar to that. What do y'all think?

Thanks.

I think that is a helluva start. I'd swap that sub for something else, maybe a nice HSU. Is the $1500 all for speakers or did your Denon come out of that?

Arx A1bs: $300
Arx A2 :$189
HSU VTF2: $520 (on sale now!)
HSU VTF-2 MK4 Subwoofer

That would be a solid 3.1 setup. Just go ahead and order 2 sets of the A1bs for surrounds and have a great 5.1 setup!

I would get the Rythmik FV12 for $500, which is the only direct servo sub on the market for only $500. That means you get a sub with a Q value of 0.5, which means tight accurate bass.

Rythmik FV12 - vented HT sub

So you ordered all the speakers already or asking for suggestions?

The 1500 would be going towards all speakers. I havent ordered any speakers yet, and the a1b's can be preordered but doesnt get released till may 1. Also, i considered using 2 more of those box speakers to use as my rears, but i thought i saw someone mention That arx is planning on releasing a new surround line this summer? Ill def check out the different subs yall mentioned.
