I watched Helboy 2 last Fridy night on standard DVD and this is one of those rare occasions where I thought the sequel is better thna the original. The characters seemed to be fleshed out a little more in this one. The humour is the same off the cough as the first but there's more of it.
The effects were good and the soundtrack was OK I think. I qualify the "OK" because I was listening to it at night using standard compression ( I also have a max compression on my receiver as well) and I now it limits the bass impact. The surrounds as far as I rememeber were there but it didn't leave me enveloped with sound say like "Master & Commander" or U571.
Its a light hearted movie made to entertain and in that respect it succeeded.
