Does anybody know what is the standard height you should mount a plasma on the wall?

I don't want my neck to start hurting after an hour of watching T.V.?
Thanks

The center of the screen should be eye level with any and all displays.

Of course this almost never happens, but try for the immediate area.

Sit on your couch... now relax.

Relax your eyes...

That is where the center of the plasma should go.

There is no fixed rule and a fair amount of the placement has to do with how you sit on your couch comfortably. Middle of the screen at eye level is quite often a little bit to low, but it truly depends on your seating position and personal comfort.

Personal confort for my theater is laying back on recliners. Plasma is then mounted a little higher so there is no neck discomfort looking downward at head-seating height. Agree, there is no standard for everyone.

Actually there is a standard: Eyes in neutral rest position looking straight forward should be 1/3-1/2 up on the screen Typically 1/3 is the best spot for front projection or large wall hanging monitors because it elevates the
Screen or monitor enough for center channel placement below the screen
At a proper height for good performance

I don’t have a link but learned about it 10 years ago at a Joe Kane seminar ;)

hang it the same height you would hang other large wall hangings, like portraits, paintings, and large mirrors. This will keep mom or the decorator happy.
