Nope, generally for basic practical reasons.
There are many issues.
DVD's are recorded for specific countries, and the players are generally specific for the those DVD's. There are instances of a Zone 1 DVD player being able to play Zone 7 (or whatever), but in most cases a DVD player for Japan is not going to be able to handle US recorded DVD's.
Electrical specifications. EU (European Union) electrical codes are significantly different than US electrical codes which affects receivers and amps. Ignoring electrical codes, there are other electrical limitations that prevent a receiver or amp from being used between countries.
And then there is the legal issues, such as warranty requirements, AND some countries restrict sales to the manufacturers master dealer or distributor for that country.
