I just upgraded my Nomad Zen Xtra 40gb with some Sennheiser px 100's.First impressions are pretty good, clear accurate sound, decent soundstage,tight/sharp bass not muddy at all like alot of lower priced headphones. The highs are kind of bright but they are just babies they need breaking in.I chose Echoes and Dark Side as my demos, for before and after they loosen up.I'm looking for other full range audio to compare, maby something in the Jazz or Classical category, something that tests the speaker to the fullest.

You should definitely check out something that uses Acoustic Holography or Qsound. Roger Waters' The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking and Sting's The Soul Cages are great choices. Also, if do do a search online, you can find a few binaural recordings.

The Q sound on Amused to death is pretty good too. Has some great dynamic stuff as well.

if you think the px100's are quite good, you should really consider giving the grado sr60's a go

The px-100 are a very good pair of headphone with a surprisingly good image, I would give moving pictures from rush a try, it sounds great with them. Good chose none the less ^^, piano pieces sound good and not resonant with these phones. I would also try what else is their by royksop as it has some nice highs and lows that sound great on the phones.

I listened to my first true dummy-head binaural recording this weekend. I have since ordered as many more as I can find, because the experience is jaw-droppingly awesome!
