HDMI handshake issue

Some apps will support 24Hz(movie frame rate) output on certain devices set to match frame rate. But, not all will do so and there will be issues when trying to play 4K HDR 60Hz in this particular case. You can try to set the Fire Cube to output 4K @30Hz using the existing cable to see if the reduced bandwidth needed for output will get you a a 4K HDR signal with the TV in "Enhanced" mode.

At least I know the culprit now, a lot of trouble shooting and help from all of you. When I switch the fire cube down to 1080 at 60hz then the enhance mode works so we have figured out the issue. So I need a fiber optic hdmi?

Yes, you do. No matter how many times you ask the question the answer will be the same!

Replaced the hdmi in the bedroom up in the attic and ran conduit with fiber optic cable and all set! No more issues and can run in hdmi avanced w no issue. (Although I forgot i have a little 3 foot HDMI still going from the cube to receiver that i forgot to upgrade)

Before i installed it i tried it in my living room set up. Currently in my living room i get 4 k hdr at 60 with 8 bit selected on fire cube. When i tried the fiber optic cable in the living room i was able to select 10 bit on the cube Today. Without the fiber optic cable my high speed cables only let me select 8 bit.

It may be time to upgrade those cables too, although I don’t know what the real difference would be in 10 bit if I’m already getting HDR. I just have standard high speed cables in the living room.
