Hdmi differences? 1.2 1.3...so on

How do i know what my hdmi cables are and is there a need to get better ones, also i read about having to have 1.3..."i think" to get 6.1 or 7.1 sound to a avr from my ps3, true?

all cables are digital no matter what type, if it turns on there is no difference from 5 dollar hdmi to 120 dollar hdmis, there all the same

All cables are not the same despite being equal on the bench tests.
