HDMI connections

Hello and help-
should i purchase a 2 input/1 output HDMI switcher to join a Directv HD DVR, Samsung HD950 DVD player to my Dell 42" plasma? i don't have a receiver, i intend to purchase a Yamaha YSP1000 for surround sound. any other way to accomplish this?

If I were you, I'd wait a few months. HDMI switching will soon be a standard feature in mid-range recievers.

It's going to be in the Denon 2807, which has an MSRP around $1,000.

So you could pay the hundreds of dollars for an external 2x1 HDMI switch, or invest that extra money into your surround system
