Which HDMI cable would you guys recommend for the PS3?

I've looked at the ones in the stores and they not only look cheap, they look overpriced too!

I checked there but, I could only find a component, s-video & composite cable for the PS3, no HDMI.

monoprice? You don't need a special HDMI cable for your PS3, any HDMI cable will work. As I said, your cable or satellite provider should be able to provide you one for free, just tell them you want it to connect your satellite or cable box to your television, and they will almost certainly hand you a brand new cable in a plastic bag for free.:)

monoprice does have HDMI cables, and a wide variety as well.

just one of many examples

Hmmm.... I was thinking the Playstations had a wierd plug on the cable. Right now, i'm using the Component cable that I used for the PS2 and it is definitely a different end than an HDMI cable. Is there another output on the PS3 (80gig) i'm not seeing?

The PS3 has 2 ports for video. You have a standalone hdmi port and the multi av port that can do composite, s-video, and component. The hdmi port is right next to the toslink port in the back.

Wow, thank you. I guess i just never noticed it.

I've got to order a 15' + HDMI for the tv so I guess i'll order a shorter one at the same time.

BG3,

I've got the an 80G PS3 also. There is definately an hdmi port on the back. It is different from the one you used for your PS2. I used the same PS2 connector for a day until I got another hdmi cable. Now the hdmi is the only cable, other than the power cord, that is attached to my PS3.

As mentioned by others, you can get low cost, well made, cables from sources like www.monoprice.com or www.bluejeanscable.com. I have ordered from both several times and recommend both. Both are reliable and ship fast. I ordered my last hdmi from Blue Jeans on a Wed night and had them Fri afternoon via usps.

The improvement in PQ is well worth getting the new cable.

Jack
