HDMI Audio capable Receivers

I recently purchased a Toshiba HD-DVD player and Optoma HD70 (with 120" screen) So I have the Video I want , now I want the audio. Is there a list or comparison chart showing which receivers actually accept the audio from HDMI. I almost bought a Sony 800, but after readying reviews found out that the HDMI is pass thru only. Manufactures websites are not to clear on whether or not they accept the audio.

Any mid-level receiver should have hdmi audio capabilities. Look into the new line of Onkyos or last Denon's model from last years those should do what you need.

Yamaha Receivers

The Yamaha RX-V661 also has the HDMI audio features you need. Like you discovered some of the older and lower end models only include HDMI switching. You can check the manual online to verify that a receiver has the HDMI audio feature before you make a purchase.
