HDMI and Component Distances

I recently purchased a Panasonic PT-AE900U projector, and will be placing it approximately 12-15 feet from my receiver. I am debating between HDMI and component video, and was wondering if anybody knew at what point the distance of the run became a real factor for each. Does running these cables over 6-10 feet distort the quality at all?

I appreciate your advice and comments in advance.

A 6-10 foot distance should not distort the quality on either signal, assuming you use quality cabling.

The real determining questions are 1) price, and 2) image quality.

HDMI cable is typically more expensive but offers better resolution.
