I recently got mysky HD cable, and have it connected to my 32 inch widescreen samsung CRT via component as it has no HDMI input. it has two component inputs, one for hdtv and one for standard definition inputs. one wont display the other ie- on the HD input it wont display SD resolution and on the SD input it wont display HD resoloution. The screen is 1080i and i have the mysky set to upscale all to 1080i so i can view it, and with skysport it is displaying the HD pic fine (not upscaled-got hd ticket) but on channels 1, 2, and 3 which are HD broadcast it comes up with the HDCP (high definition content protection) banner and downgrades it to SD, which means my screen goes blank and i have to change av channels to the one composite is hooked up too (with mysky HD output set to component, sd signal is sent to composite or s-video) . why would i have no prob with sky sport, and yet get the warning banner on 1,2,3?? i want to have those channels HD as on sport the samsung picture in HD was awesome!! even the upscaled stuff is great. my mrs watches some programs on 1,2 and3 and wants it in HD. i have sound via optical so get the dolby digital on tv3. sky (provider) says i need to hook up via HDMI, but if i can get the sport no probs, why not the others!!!!! any ideas!!!!! been through all settings.
