It really is night and day. The 16 bit versions are almost unlistenably shrill - so much so that I've already replaced the entire catalog and dumped the CD versions on ebay. Reactions: gene

Gene mentioned earlier (post or two up from mine) that he could only tell after the recording engineer tipped him off. Why go high res if CD handles it all. BTW, I also voted vinyl as I find the listening experience extremely satisfying.
