HD STB to Receiver to TV?

I have a new HD DVR. H10-250. Got it so I can record HD, blahblah.

I want to know if:

1) I am able to put my DirecTV Signal through my Denon AVR-4806 and then have it go out to my Sony kdf-70xbr950 which is HDCP compliant.

2) if this is even worth it, i.e. would my Denon do anything positive to the picture that I can't figure out by reading the specs.

and more importantly,

3)what I should do if I have a Denon DVD-3910 that outputs DVI and HDMI, but my TV only has 1 DVI input. IF I want to have DirecTV and the highest output of DVD, but I can't put them all through my receiver (which DOES put everything out through one HDMI cable, and I DO have the HDMI to DVI conversion cable), HOW am I going to do this without constantly changing cables out on my TV?

Someone please guide me!

Jason

No, it won't do anything to improve the signal. The signal quality is only as good as the signal coming in.

I don't understand the second question? If you output via DVI from the receiver with the adapter to the TV, you should be fine and no switching with the STB and DVD hooked to it.
