Wife is wanting to upgrade our Satelite service to HD.
One of our TV/ Displays is a Panasonic TH-37PWD8UK Plasma
Pixels 408,960 ( 853 (W) X 480 (H) [2,556 X 480 dots]
Will the Pany benifit from HD Satelite signal?

It might. The TV will scale the signal down to match it's display. I've noticed on my SD TVs though, that some items on HD channels seem sharper. I've noticed it most on ESPN when showing HD baseball and football games. It has a more DVD quality/sharpness to it than even my other Sat. channels, and Dish Network channels are usually pristine. Most Satalite companies will only run one or two HD signals per installation package. If that's the case run a SD signal to that display and the HD to the other true HDTVs you have. Unless the signal is very poor, it should look good on that TV.

Yes, you will benefit from the HD signal with picture clarity. Granted you won't have a HD signal since your plasma is not at 720p or 1080i native resolution. But you will receive digital signals whch are better quality. Your plasma will down-convert the signal to it's native 480p widescreen format. The other issue is which satelite company you have and what receiver you'll use. I believe most will output an HD signal through the component video RCA outputs. Newer receivers have moved toward the HDMI connection. Just make sure the receiver will output an HD signal to the YPbPr component RCA connections.

I current use the Dish ViP211 receiver. I'm using the HDMI connection to my projector using 720p. My previous Dish receiver used a RGB D-sub 15 connection for the HD signal.

We had Direct TV but are switching to Dish Net.
My reciever ( HK 634 ) has no HDMI connections or DVI.
Sometimes we just watch TV with no AVR involved. What would be best way conect to both AVR and TV to get HD no mater which way we choose to view .?
