Having a sub (Sinclair)/receiver (Yamaha HTR 6063) issue and need some input?

I'm running Sinclair, Brighton series 5.1 with an 8' powered sub. Just upgraded my receiver to a Yamaha HTR 6063. Got everything set up and was running the YPAO and had some problems. All of the speakers are making noise and register as small speaker following the YPAO calibration, but the sub is silent (if I crank the sub up to full volume I hear a little noise but not enough for the YPAO mic to pick it up). Switched cables, fiddled with the volume/freq at the back of the sub and NADA.

This is the first time I've had an issue and don't know where to look. Surround sound sounds like crap with out the sub....

Help? Suggestions?

Forget CRAPO (YPAO) and do a manual set up.

Welcome to the forum!

If your sub has a variable crossover frequency, make sure to set that to the highest possible number. If you can disable the sub crossover (some have a switch for that), do that. You want to have the receiver to set the crossover (either by itself using YPAO or by you doing it manually), so you want to effectively disable that in the sub.

I mention that because you might experience what you described if you had the sub crossover set to a low value on the sub itself.

What does your menu setting say for redirecting LFE? Is it set to sub only?
