hi every one
i have this receiver Yamaha RX-V661 and i want to buy some speakers, i saw some but i don't know if they are good enough. The company is HTX Audio, I never heard of them so i hope they don't make trashy speakers.

here is the details about the speakers: HTX Audio Model: CX-8021

Please help me to decide and the price is about $350 a pair. Do you think it’s good company and how about sound quality and priced? What other speakers would you recommend with my receiver?

For that much money I would look into Speakercraft or Sonance which are companies known for their in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.

Are these going to be used for general listening or surround sound. What size is the opening?

I have both SpeakerCraft and Sonance and they both sound very good. Try to find either of these and give them a listen.

There are very different types of in walls. Those ones might be suitable for surrounds at a push, but not for the mains and center. For that you need a speaker that has a proper enclosure. If you click on my signature, you can see some in walls!

I think the website tells you everything you need to know. Here's what the "Contact Us" page says.

"Sending e-Mail to your sales representative is a preferred way of communication method."

"a preferred way of communication method"? Do you know anybody who speaks that way?

Sounds like a Chinese company posing as an American manufacturer. Why don't they just tell us who they are?

Yes. :D
Almost needs an email asking for a phone number to talk with a human:D That should tell you if it is in China, maybe.

So my installer apparently installed and listened to HTX Auido CX-8021 ceiling speakers in his last installation job.
He wouldn’t recommend it because he could get exactly the same speakers with different brand name on Ebay for around mid $50 and the sound is no way comparable with Speakercraft or Sonance even though they are at the same price range online.

I am looking @ the Speakercraft Aim 7 as we speaker. :D

thank you ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
