Hi,

I am wondering if there's a way to modify the way my receiver's Dolby Digital Pro Logic II surround sound settings work. When I have the speakers set on "Extended Stereo" mode, they show off their bass reproduction abilities quite nicely (the floor standing towers, and the subwoofer). However, when I set the speakers to Dolby Digital Pro Logic II, which is I guess proper surround, the bass is dumbed down quite a bit. I'm not sure how to fix this. I have my crossover set to 100Hz. I don't want to crank up my subwoofer or set it to "plus" mode; I like the nice levels of bass each speaker can reproduce in their "stereo" mode, which seems to disappear when I switch to Dobly Digital. I don't know if this makes sense?

Info on my speaker system:
Front: Two Energy CF-30's
Rear: Two Energy RC-Mini's
Center: One Energy CC-10
Sub: One Energy ESW-C8
Receiver: Pioneer VSX-520-K

If you’re getting more bass from your main speakers in your “stereo bypass” setting, it sounds like it is fully bypassing the bass management. So, to keep the same effect with DPL, just set your L/R speakers to ”large” in the receiver’s menu.
