Has anyone checked out the Droid?

If I were actually looking into a new phone this would be at the top of my list. I personally like the fact it doesn't have a touch screen. At least with my current phone, if the screen goes out I can still use it.

Thrilled to death with my Iphone, Droid looks interesting, but I'll hold off on buying anything like that until it has had a few years under its belt... And it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever buy any Motorola product in the next 5 years period... Moto is pretty much the bottom of the barrel as far as hardware goes, and has been for the last 5 years.

I only bought into the Iphone on the second release, and its a great tool - does it run my life NO, does it simplify it for me dam right... I'm in a good area as far as network coverage goes, some are not - which also may present a reason to make a move for a more common carrier, but Sprint/Verizon have always sucked here in the past....

The droid does have a touch screen...

And a keypad, which the iphone does not. Of course, I'm sure that the next gen droid will have done away with the keypad...

I am right there with you - I need buttons. My wife asked me the other day if I wanted a Harmony 1100 for Christmas (and the answer was hell no - it has no buttons! )
