I' need some help on deciding between the Infinity beta 20's and The KEF iQ1's I know it's been a long time since you talked about them but I have no way of listening to the beta's. What ones would you recommend? It'll be mostly movies and I'll be getting a sub within the next six months. Please, Please reply if you can. I've been losing sleep over this.

lol.of the two, i'd pick the BETA 20's. those have 6.5" woofers ... the iQ1 should have a 5 something inch woofer.

i like the bigger woofer.

What about the tweeter, is the Beta as detailed and neutral as the KEF's?

unfortunately, i did not give the BETA 10 and KEF Q1 (iQ3) i had an A/B comparison. i found that i didn't like one tweeter over the other though. (i'm easy to impress)

personally, i like the looks of the KEF, but the BETA 20 is one big bookshelf that looks like it means business - and i'm sure it tramples the KEF in the bass area.

my Q1 just doesn't have much bass.

yes this is true but it looked different in my living room and that only took two weeks to change my mind

MikeC, have you ever heard the JBL L830? if so how does it compare to the betas?
By the way, should I just start a new thread?

i've only heard them in the store ...

and the fact that i've already purchased my beta set means i won't listen to them carefully because of the fear of regret on my then recent purchase.

i did ask the sales guy though which was better in his opinion:

he said betas. i don't know if he was trying to appease my possible remorse though.
