Has anyone owned a Harmon Kardon HK3270? I would like to hear what you thought about it. Also is the built in phono stage good?

One data point. Not a HK 3270 and do not do vinyl. Do use a similar, slightly newer, HK 3485 (120W/Ch) as the focal point of a 2-channel CD/USB FLAC/BT 2.2 bookshelf speaker system in a small room.

It performs beautifully. Bought the HK used in ~2015 and have no regrets. It has a strong, smooth amp section and the functionality I need.

There is no bass management except for pre-amp out / main amp in.

To integrate a sub, I use a Sub that has 80Hz HPF RCA outputs. Then reconnect back into the HK's main amp in inputs to limit what the books are asked to reproduce.

Thanks for your advice. I don't think that I'll need 120 watts as I normally listen at relatively low levels somewhere between 60 and 72 dBs. However, I saw the HK3470 that is 100W/Ch and I am considering It.

I don't need 120W/Ch either (small room).

The extra power does provide lower distortion and more dynamic headroom at what ever level you listen at.

With used HK's the price differential between models is normally pretty small, so I would not reject getting a higher power model if available at a decent price.

In addition, if you change speakers down the road (i e. lower sensitivity) the extra power could come in handy

How much is the 3270 going to cost? That's a 20 year old receiver....
