Hello I am having a question, over the past few years I read on many sites and heard from many individuals that receivers from past are of better quallity components than never ones, that they sound better and last longer. I am an ovner of Harman Kardon AVR 165 which is powering my Magnat Quantum 500 series speaker in 5.1 setup. It is placed in medium 16 m2 room and is used for playing music, watch movies and play games. It is only connected to the computer via optical cable from my Xonar DX card sending Dolby digital signal to it. Optical connection is only one I use and will ever use alond possible usage of analog jack. Now I can get a mint condition AVR 5500 and I wonder if I should replace my never model with it. I wonder if any of you has any experience bettwen them the AVR 5500 is more than 5 kilos heavier than my AVR 165 and I also know wattage isnt really an indicator of units strenght, so I am asking for your opinion on that.
