That’s a Beast amplifier/ avr . All his choices are good !!! Wonder what hsu charges to ship ?? Is it a lot
I want to say $100 for shipping, and I’m glad to hear the positive feedback on the choices. Appreciate it, there’s so many options and directions to go with it all. Feel like it’s tough not getting bamboozled by trash products. You really gotta read a ton about all this in order to make a somewhat informed purchase.

That's actually a good practice with most consumer products,, eh? :)
Ya true & good point. But I’ve never really scoured forums when researching PC parts, TV’s and other purchases I’ve made. The path to informing myself on those purchases was much easier and more straightforward. Less noise. There’s a ton of crap out there for H/T amd it’s less obvious what’s good and what’s not.

There's no doubt you picked one hell of an avr. It's not a "bad" choice. Just an expensive one, and a little bit upside down budget-wise compared to the rest of your gear.

Most definitely budget wise.. I guess I can thank the wife, she didn’t want a bunch of machines in our entertainment systems lol. My compromise was the 6700h one box solution to run all speakers. (also got refurbished to save a bit) I am curious though, I looked hard for a cheaper option that would run all 11 channels with no need to add an amp... Is there a cheaper one box option out there? Will kick my self if so lol.. I could have completely been miss reading and not understanding how these Denon receivers work.

Probably not, but a lot of the mid tier models will process that many channels with an extra amp. You can find smaller less intrusive (and less expensive) amplification for powering effect speakers. Are you really going to use that many channels tho? You need a pretty big room to lay all that out correctly.

Neither here nor there now tho. The wife wants a 1 box solution and you got one. It's an awesome avr and you made a good choice as far as brand and model. The 6700 is a lot of avr, and I'm not gonna beat you up over it, lol. If you were still shopping I'd be leaning on you pretty hard tho...

I really like the suggestion to bump your sub budget a bit and grab the VTF-3 MK5. I have a pair of those and they loaf most of the time in my big room, but when I want to rattle the walls they can deliver.

Don't discount the shipping costs...possibly both ways.
A major benefit for SVS is their 45 day return policy...free both ways.
HSU allows returns on your dime:
  • "We will refund the complete purchase price, minus any shipping charges, after our technicians review the return." That is you pay in both directions.
Be Safe.

Oh I started my whole AV upgrade thing when looking for a flat screen modern tv (thus my screen name from that time), having had a Sony Trinitron for a long time before that all the choices with lcd and plasma at the time weren't exactly intuitive. Then I started upgrading the audio after that (actually more expanded it from my smaller bedroom system at that point due to my roommate with the living room setup moving out :) ).
