A true musical giant, not just in terms of the guitar but also his innovations in multi-track and other recording techniques.

He played right up until the end which is also pretty amazing.

RIP.

As a friend of mine said, "A toast to Mr. Paul. In his case, Les was definitely more."

I just read the AP piece on him. I remember in the late 80's doing a high school report on him.

Sheer genius. Interesting tid bit:

Les Paul got into multi-track and over dubbing because there were too many sound a-like guitarists out there. It pissed him off.

He went into hiatus for about three years and came out with stuff that just blew everything away (technically speaking) and left all the posure's eating his dust and scratching their heads. They had NO IDEA of what the man cooked up in his lab recording equipment and technique wise.

This is very sad news to me. My thoughts go out to the family and friends of this guitar legand.

I was really bummed when I saw this yesterday. What an innovator.
