I just put a Sherwood Newcastle A/V unit (R-872) between my video sources and my Samsung LCD.
I'm experiencing a new, unusual effect. When the source pushes out black - like after a movie ends and just before credit star ot rool, or when the DVR studders for a second - the LCD panel is continuing to display a sharp, single tone, light grey image of the last scene.
The Sherwood uses Faroudja 2301 Scaler/Deinterlacer. I'm assuming this $1200 box does the best upconversion to 1080P, so I have it upscaling all source material...
I admit I haven't had a chance to play with things yet too much, but if someone has some insight to this issue, I'd appreciate your reply! Thanks.
