What review? From the very 1st post, it was negative before he even 'reviewed" the speakers...

Rick
I am speaking about the entire forum as a whole just as you implied ;)
In regards to this thread you say the members here sling mud yada yada yada, about things they don't know about well I certainly know more about these thanks to Jerry, good or bad I know more about these speakers in question and learning about the whole design in general thanks to Roy and Jerry and of course the rest of the Mudslingers

Negative and Pessmistic are not the same thing.

Even if he was a pessimist, he gave and is giving the GMA Europas a chance. You're just dissapointed they didn't blow him away.

Where did you find that out? This is the last I saw posted on the issue!
I would say that after exactly a month after saying he would, after multiple posts about the subject since, all the talk in the meantime about the speakers etc. without the contact...I would equate that as a refusal.
I find that with the age of the speakers, admited shipping damage, unknown history and whatever else these speakers could have experienced, on top of not contacting Roy as agreed, as unfair.

So he's been busy.

Has he "refused" to post a review as well?

Roy has gone above and beyond to be cordial and answer all questions and comments, no matter how ridiculous. But his work here is done.
I find it a bit disquieting that you would declare RoyJ's work here done. What is up with that?
Did he ask you to post that, or did he tell you he was leaving the tread, or did you decide for him?

The post I quoted was dated 1/6/11. Be patient.
It took a while for Roy to get the owners manual to Jerry but no one here started acting like Roy was trying to hide anything. Through this time of the year I expect delays and am tolerant of delays from others.

Grab a dictionary....
Pessimistic

expecting the worst possible outcome

Negative

displaying negation or denial or opposition or resistance

My position remains the same. It's a matter of tense, and it's not just semantics I want to argue. You can expect the worst and experience the best. You can expect the best and experience the worst. So long as you as an individual don't feebly allow your expectations to form the basis for evaluation, you're free to come into anything with any mind set.

The only negativity in this thread is

1) Towards snake oil products. Concepts that are simply scientifically incorrect yet marketed as ever-present.
2) Towards those who would buy and believe and have faith in said snake oil.

Nope...I implied no such thing, you are making a truely false statement, one with an "us against them" attitude.

The mudslinger statement was derived from Jerry himself, "let's try to avoid mud slinging and name calling here shall we" a response to 3db

And you know more about "this" pair of speakers, I wouldn't categorize these as a representation of the Europa's in general, for the reasons I already posted....

I am by no means saying that Jerry has been quick in this process!
On 1/6/11, Jerry again said he would contact RoyJ.
You can say that Jerry has been slow to contact Roy, but why would you say he refuses to 4 days after he has stated he will?
That is simply wrong.

Pessimistic:

A tendency to stress the negative

What is simply wrong, is publically reporting negatively about a speaker that is aged, that has admitted shipping damage and an unknown history...then, when the owner of the company spends as much time as Roy did, says Call me, and I will tell you how to fix the abnomally, over a month ago, while this thread is in public view, which is easily found by anyone doing a search on Europa, or Green Mountain, not giving Roy enough respect to even do that....I find that "simply wrong"

What is the point?????

"It took a while for Roy to get the owners manual to Jerry but no one here started acting like Roy was trying to hide anything"

I don't understand why you would say something like that...why would you say "Roy was trying to hide" anything???????

More false information...as Roy posted on 12/5 to Jerry if he needed the Manual to let him know...Jerry posted on 12/7 he had the manual, so, again, what are you trying to imply?????

Too bad this forum has closed minded individuals who preffer to attack those with different ideas and background.
This thread had no value, no purpose other than to allow "regulars" of the site to sling mud about things they knew/know nothing about
Rick
I for one am not against anybody. I just love this forum and the members that help the place thrive to be more informative than most other places.I am surely not an expert and believe that threads like this are more like stepping stones for Audioholics seeking knowledge in this hobby, just like you commend Roy I commend Jerry for his work ;)

" individuals"

You forgot to read that word...I was not speaking of everyone in the forum, only as few, as I stated before, and actually, I typed forum and meant thread, but the same "individual" statement was meant either way. I'm also a member of the forum...I try to think with an open mind, but I guess at times I can be closed minded too...

How about something positive, why can't Jerry call Roy, find out what Roy has to say about the "fix" and go from there?

We can put all this "pessimistic negativity" to rest! ;)

Seems pretty logical to me?

Off topic....we are all different and evolving, at least those who I know usually are. so, a little, introduction...

I am different from most in that like many here, I have my Samsung 61" HD, Sony PS3, Samsung BD/DVD-HD combi player, against the wall between my C-3 speakers.

I have vintage gear to go with my system, Accuphase C-200X, HK Citation I, and VAC CPA-1 MKIII pre-amps, Citation II amp, Sony SCD-1 CD/SACD player, Technics SP-10 MKII turntable and a nice Sansui AU-11000A/TU-9900/Celestion 11/Technics SP-10 MKII turntable/Pioneer CD player system in the basement.
