Always was amazed at how Stanley Jordan could play this way and have it sound so incredible.

Seriously, I have no life.
It is no contest. Segovia is the greatest guitarist who ever lived to date. There is absolutely no argument about it.

He was good, I love the videos of him as an old man playing, something pure about it...

Have to add Chet Atkins, Jeff Beck, Doc Watson, Sonny Landreth, Les Paul, Keith Richards, Duane Allman, Hubert Sumlin, Frank Zappa (don't laugh; I saw him live and he put John McLaughlin, the headliner that night with The Mahavishnu Orchestra, to shame), Stevie Ray Vaughan (personal fave), etc. I know I left some out .... the list is endless. It's a matter of preference.

I'm sure there are many differing opinions on this based on the music genre and personal preferences but in my view it has to be Tommy Emmanuel.

Tommy Emmanuel - Daytripper/Lady Madonna (by The Beatles) - YouTube

Tommy Emmanuel - Classical Gas (by Mason Williams) - YouTube

Tommy's Reddit request 3: Purple Haze - YouTube

I am in awe every time I see him play. I have seen him live on stage as well as up close and personal in a workshop. I still can't believe the sounds he extracts from a guitar.
If you liked those check out his 12 bar blues in the key of E video. I was looking for something to jam along to, and I spent the rest of the time picking my jaw up off the floor.

A very good , cutting edge guitarist that may have been overlooked here- Michael Shenker , lead for UFO. I was never a big fan but must say this guy could JAM.
