The Grateful Dead just announced their new streaming app. Play Dead.

For $10/mo? No thanks. I'll stream for free from the archive (at least until tptb take it from us, or until whoever is in control of the Dead takes 'em off there, puts them in a box set, wraps it in celophane and attempts to sell it back to us--like they did with some of my favorite Winterland shows). The fee'd streaming model is the antithesis of the whole Dead ethos, fer cryin out loud. The whole world is going to hell, dammit!

Didn't look, had assumed free but otoh someone's gotta pay for the service.....
