Grado Headphones...

I really couldn't find where to post this, so I figured it might be considered "Misc". Anyway, I just got these new Grado Labs SR80 headphones for Christmas. Slowly, I'm trying to become more aware of the greater sound of music and such that I miss by using crappy equipment. These headphones are great! However, I've noticed something. Everyone once in awhile, I get this sound from my left side that sounds like crinkling of tissue paper... or something like that. I hate to think what that means. I've treated these things great, too. I NEVER try to turn them up loud at all, so I really dunno.

Thanks!!

Just kidding, It could as simple as a dirty connection, a loose wire. First clean all headphone jacks and connections then try moving around the headphone cord to see if you can pin down the noise. there is a web site goodcans.com that sell those headphones and are very knowledgeable.

I would try going to www.headfi.com and check out if they have anything to say.

My experience with that type of problem has always been caused by the player my headphones are plugged in to. If this happens with only one machine, then you know its not the 'phones - try plugging into dif. devices.

From what I've heard, Grado owners who have found that hairs get stuck in the driver and create this sound. Remove the ear pad and check for a hair or other foreign object.

I own a pair, I love them. As someone else suggested, try plugging them to different sources. I turn the volume up sometimes with no distortion.
Grado has excellent warranty policy. Contact them if the problem continues.
