My wife's looking at cars...namely the Mini Cooper. Well, she's been trying to figure out what options she can afford to include on the car. The one she wasn't sure about was the upgraded Harmon Kardon sound system...whether or not it was worth the money.
So I was sitting at my desk, and my wife walks in, plops a stack of CDs on my desk and said, "Let's go to the dealer. I want to compare the sound systems." The salesman was more than happy to let her, being a former musician. He actually let her do a complete comparison demo...pulled two cars up right next to each other so there wasn't a lot of time in between...and just let her relax and listen to a few songs.
I was really surprised, we had a better demo for a $500 car stereo option than I have looking for HT speakers in a long time.
Of course, the surprises didn't stop there. We went to dinner after, and she started asking me questions about why she could hear different instruments in different speakers in one and not the other. She actually sat for a brief audio lesson.
(No surprise at all, she's getting the upgraded stereo...it actually sounded pretty good.)
