Congrats on the new TV! Which model did you get?
I have the 50" G10 and love it. I used the break-in images linked
here (click on the
Free Download Available In 3 Formats! link on the lower right) based upon the recommendations from some of the folks on this forum. I put the images (the 8KB file) on to an SD memory card and then ran a slide show on the TV. That was a lot easier for me than making a DVD and playing it for hours. Those images are intended to provide a uniform break-in on all pixels, and you can run the slide show (or DVD) while you're not around.
The experts can give you the best approach, but I'll say that I started watching television programs as soon as I got the TV. I didn't wait until I had gone through the break-in images for a set number of hours. I don't think that I have any negative effects from that. Just don't leave static images on the screen for a long time (like TV station logos or game icons), and you shouldn't have a problem. That's my thinking, anyways.
