I don't know if this is a realistic option for you, but if you have the means (tools, equipment, etc.) you may want the option of a DIY sub. Most can do DIY subs with better drivers, custom-cabinets, and a finish to match your room for anywhere from 1/5 to 1/2 the price. Often times it is also considerably better, though of course SVS is superb! The point is, spending $2K on a sub is probably not the best way to use that money, especially if there are good, viable alternatives available for a lot less. You could even get a DIY kit if you don't want to do any cutting or routing.
