And this is why I decided to leave line arrays to other vendors. Note that you still have to add active crossovers with programmable slopes and amps to drive them. Still--I sure would like to hear a pair.

I didn't even realize that about the crossovers - thanks for the heads up! I actually thought that Grant was starting a thread about your Philharmonics. All the talk about them is wearing down my resolve to stick with what I have.

How much would you charge to build me a completed pair of those red ones with your active XO & programmable slopes? Then you can listen, test, measure all you want. No, really.

Click to expand... the instructions/settings for the digital crossover are in the manual, section 12.3: http://www.parts-express.com/pedocs/manuals/301-980-audio-artistry-inc-cbt36k-manual.pdf FWIW, you can get these things completed from Audio Artistry, for around ~$10k O_O

Would my Orion analog crossover work, or does it have to be digital (DSP)? So they charge $7K for labor?

AcuDefTechGuy Audioholic Jedi Feb 24, 2012 #13 I noticed Don Keele compared the measurements to the B&W 801 Matrix. How would the CBT stack up against the KEF 207/2 or Salon2 or Orion?

Vertically, the CBTs have pattern control down to ~!60hz. I'd imagine that the CBTs sound pretty damn similar to those, but louder

AcuDefTechGuy Audioholic Jedi Feb 25, 2012 #15 If someone can build a completed CBT36 w/ XO & w/o Amplifier and sell them for $4,000, instead of $10,000, that would be nice.

I guess in the future Audio Artistry will be offering a passive version that does not require an outboard active XO. I'm not buying anymore speakers for my HT room, though. I think I have enough. I think. If I have to guess, I might upgrade the P362 (family room movie/music/karaoke).

C CadenceSound Junior Audioholic Feb 27, 2012 #20 Hmm someone should make a mini version of this. Or maybe the same size, bigger drivers but w/ half the amount of drivers. I always liked line-array speakers, but never got the chance to own any..
