LOL...I am running towers right now but the second my "little" bookshelfs get home (tonight) the awesome;) Klipsch Ref towers will be back in the closet and the bookshelfs will be pulling duty.

Based on your budget, it is a good start. It's funny because Greg is also running little bookshelfs w/ similar receiver in a larger space albeit with a very nice sub. Yanking your chain, Greg.:p

for the subs i'm actually going with a local company that i've heard very good things about, i'm going to be starting off with 1 of their creativesound SD12/Amp Kit:

from everything i've heard, starting off with one of these then adding a second later on should be somewhat adequet for my room

but yea..in terms of those speakers do u guys think it's better to go with 5 X-CS main/center/surround:

or should i get the seperate peices, bookshelves, center, etc:

I would say getting 5 x-cs for all around would do a better job than getting a mix of x-cs speakers and x-ls ones. In general it is better to have one speaker type that is all around you rather than a few.

Unless you are going for huge floor towers for your L/R mains, I would go with 5 identical speakers. I think 5 identical Center speakers will be better than 5 bookshelf speakers.
