It seems like a good tv and a good deal. I just recently sold a 65" RPTV, it was an Aspect, which is made by Hitachi, and it was a great tv. As long as the one you're considering has all the inputs you need, and possibly will need in the future, and it has the features you find important in buying a tv, then go for it. I noticed delivery is only $59.99, so the whole package with tax for around $1000 is not bad at all. Good luck with your decision.

Even better then. In that case, I would go over there and bring a familiar DVD from your collection and play it on their floor model of the tv you're interested in. Also check what kind of connection their DVD player is using. If the picture looks mediocre from what you know it's supposed to look like, they might be using RCA cables rather than component, which is most common for DVD players. If you have a set of component cables, bring them with just in case. You want to basically have your set up in their store before committing to buy, it will help you a lot in the long run. Let us know what you end up doing.

The 360 might help out also. Like I said, anything that you would use at your house will benefit you in making a decision as to if the tv is really worth it. By the specs alone, it's a great buy. Make sure to post pics once you get it and your setup's done.

Yes, It's a good TV. Hitachi's have always had good pictures. Like it was posted before, look at the TV before hand w/some familiar media. I saw one the other day at my local Sears store (yes, Sears electronics? I know) and they had a HD-DVD demo disk on a Toshiba HD-A1 playing in a darkened corner and it looked awesome! Even my wife (who thinks if you can hear and see a 32" TV than why upgrade) said it was "amazing". "like you're right there." So see if they can provide a demo w/your stuff, and dim the lights a bit. But otherwise a great buy. I've been working on my wife to get the same model.
